| One year of Early Irish. Two mandatory years of either Modern Irish or Modern Welsh (with optional half year extension). Students may choose a subject for their MA dissertation to be written in their last year. The Celtic languages are compulsory in the penultimate & prepenultimate yrs of the students' 5 yr course (ie. the Celtic langs are introduced in the 3rd & 4th yrs). The are also courses on Celtic Linguistics where the languages are compared to other family groups. |
